The Women who have got more grounded through years despite everything turn towards fantasies to get answers. They need their lives to turn into a fantasy, thus ladies go to rely entirely upon a man to spare them in their lives, as how customarily and in present day fantasies both delineate for this to occur. The artwork â€Å"Diego and I†(Mexican Painting) shows the strength over the lady over a man’s eye. The third eye is in the temple and that was totally expected to rule the life of the lady. Marin, a little youngster who lives to dream puts stock in meeting somebody â€Å"who may wed you and take you to live in a major house far away† (26). Marin feels as though she was in a jail and needs to be spared by a sovereign: a man who will wed her and deal with her-leaving the jail and going far away. The particular detail of far away infers the opportunity she gains from the caught place she is in as of now. To pick up this opportunity is to discover a man and wed him who he will at that point be responsible for Marin, the way that he is accountable for Marin’s opportunity decides an incredible authority. She accepts that a man won’t be the man to rule her life yet rather become the way in to her opportunity. Marin is the most seasoned in Mango Street and offers guidance to the young ladies living in Mango Street including Esperanza, she instructs Esperanza about working and the world, educating her additionally how men work â€Å"Boys to see us and for us to see them† (27). Marin gives a wellspring of taking care of men having the men be there for every person just as to be there for them making contact to them that something ought to be given to as a trade. Having men recognize the ladies gives open chances to the men to rule since they see the ladies are presented to the man and depend on them. Marin has a sweetheart back in Puerto Rico yet keeps the expectations that she may have somebody in America to spare her from the circumstance she is in. Marin’s edginess to better her life drives her to manipulative activity in her dealings with men. She is an excellent woman who needs to be safeguarded and â€Å"is trusting that a vehicle will stop, a star to fall, somebody to change her life† (27). Marins falling star is the vehicle that will stop and remove her, the man who will transform her. Marin has decided to sell herself, moving outside trusting that that vehicle will stop outside in the night and hang tight for the falling star, the star that will one day show up and vanquish her fantasy. This similitude contrasts a man and a falling star to offer opportunities to occur, removed her she puts all her expectation in a fantasy rescuer that most probable doesn’t exist. Ladies rely on to men supporting they would spare them, demonstrating the sort of holding up lady. Females are generally the touchy, cheerful, and tolerant ones, and it causes the loss of bliss into gloom since they are trusting that that somebody will blossom them into a fantasy. Rafaela is dazzling and it’s a revile to her life. She wedded a man to get away from the existence living at home yet now her better half is excessively defensive of herself and doesn’t let her mingle. He secures her in the condo and doesn’t even let her post the window; he is frightened she will escape with another person since she is excellent. When Rafaela’s spouse is out playing dominoes with his companions on Tuesday evenings, â€Å"Rafaela inclines out the window and inclines toward her elbow and dreams her hair like Rapunzel† (79). Rafaela opens herself to the outside world yet trusting she will be protected again by another man. She needs to be protected by another man jumping he isn’t like all other me who trao her in the â€Å"castle†. Her position decides the pity look outside however in urgent requirements. Rafaela mumbles through her eyes, the separation she has now of a being a youngster into a lady. Rafaela is a little youngster and she despises being dealt with like a confined creature that constrains her to advise the children to get her sweet beverages to improve her adolescence by and by. Since she never truly had an adolescence since that also has additionally been ruled by the man, she attempts to resuscitate it by acquiring desserts from drinks. Anyway the representation of Rafaela dreams her hair like Rapunzel, makes her become a reevaluation of a fantasy, who she pictures to be Rapunzel. Amusingly, the sovereign is the guilty party, and not the guardian angel. Anyway she can't overlook the guarantee of another man who will change Rafaela’s life, and become the sovereign in â€Å"Rapunzel. † She is secured a pinnacle of accommodation, her life ticking ceaselessly sitting tight for a man, making the ladies be named crippled life takers. Sally is another young lady who has additionally been confined away from her youth and just relies upon a man to spare her from her dad. Her dad is apprehensive Sally will leave him like all his different girls and doesn’t need her to have a man other than her. She â€Å"paints her eyes like Cleopatra† (81) that decides the inclusion of her wounds. Painting her eyes like Cleopatra outlines the magnificence of cosmetics to conceal what’s behind for this situation the beating from her dad in light of dread he has that Sally would walk out on him. Sally paints her eyes, so a man wouldn’t notice when she is outside of her home for a man to cherish her and remove her from her dad so she wouldn’t paint her eyes to cover the harm. Esperanza is a young lady who has low confidence still exceptionally hopeful of having her very own place the day she says she can be glad, chooses to get autonomous on Mango Street. She knows these accounts of reasoning a man will restore your fantasy to a lifetime circumstance, yet that’s not the situation for Esperanza. Esperanza has â€Å"decided not to grow up to live like every other person who lay their necks on the edge hanging tight for the ball and chain† (88). Esperanza accept that men will trap ladies and cause them to endure the guarantees they use to vanquish people, the opportunity they give ladies are for the most part lies it’s a snare so ladies can get bulldozed and turn into their manikins. She declined to either tame herself or sit tight for a man. She needs to make exclusively by not following what ladies accept the path of least resistance men. Despite the fact that she lives in a local where all ladies rely upon their man to spare them like fantasies, she doesn’t accept so. Esperanza accepts she can be somebody unique and she could rule her own existence without a man, which is interesting on the grounds that ladies request backing of the man. The depiction of herself not having any desire to lay her neck on the edge makes an image of her not having any desire to tumble to the jail the men have and she will not sit tight for the perpetual killjoy so she can't turn into the treatment to the man. As a rule numerous ladies put stock in men who can change mysteriously lives into heaven so ladies let men have authority over them, accepting along these lines they would spare them from the jail they live in however anticipate for something shoddier. Ladies don’t think about the conceivable outcomes that men are the inverse to the ruler in the stories, anyway in all actuality ladies are blinded by the expectation of a legend to occur. Fantasies make dreams and the ascent of expectation, trusting of something unthinkable in light of the fact that it isn’t what it resembles. Mamasita is a lady who lived in a nation and was brought to the United States in view of her better half. He â€Å"saved and spared in light of the fact that she was distant from everyone else with the infant kid in that country† (76). Mamasita was eager to come and asked her significant other to set aside cash and bring her since she felt alone she needed to come and become rejoined with her better half. She envisioned that United States would be stunning that it would be her fantasy work out once she arrives. In any case, she needed to return home, she needed United States wasn’t what it was by all accounts in her brain, she never left her home, she would consistently be in her condo and never leave particularly since she didnt know English. Her better half would consistently say â€Å"we are home† (78) making the lost expectations from her franticness to return home. The man controls where the lady will be. He chooses home showing that he built up her position; presently she needs to live with it. Saying we are home made a psyche disarray in her point of view of her fantasy. He â€Å"had torn the main thin string that kept her alive† (78). This clarifies the expectation he has detracted from her. He commanded the expectation, that the ladies offered access to, and slaughtered it. The thin string represented the expectation of opportunities to return home to her nation and be glad. The string was torn the expectation was murdered by her rescuer that kept her expectation alive, yet now she’s living a bad dream. Ladies particularly dream since they put stock in their expectations, however the men overwhelm their expectations and execute the would like to their fantasies to turn out to be valid. Men trust that ladies will call for them, to become friends in need to them and lead them into their fantasies, however tightening the bad dream in the middle. The mastery of the man toward the ladies makes the third eye that has power over the ladies controlling where, when, and what she is assume to do. Fantasies are stories that rely upon men, an

Gender Differences in Human Development

Sexual orientation Differences in Human Development Yaqin Albirawi Unique This paper investigates the disclosures concerning sexual orientation contrasts in human turn of events. All exploration structure has been assembled from dependable sources that base their information on measurements and logical discoveries. The principle goal of this report is to demonstrate how guys and females will in general vary extraordinarily in their cerebrum, intellectual, social-passionate, and moral turn of events. Mind contrasts across sexual orientations happen as ahead of schedule as preceding birth, for male babies have a thicker right half of the globe as female embryos. Researchers have likewise found male cerebrums to be commonly bigger, yet less balanced than female minds. In the absolute first long stretches of life, a girl’s left side of the equator reacts snappier to verbal sounds. Moreover, significantly sometime down the road, verbal IQ tests bring up that young ladies are at a progressively verbal bit of leeway, while young men are increasingly talent ed in visual and spatial capacities. Many accept this prevalence is related with levels of testosterone, a hormone known to be found in more significant levels in guys. Hormones found in people additionally greatly affect their social-passionate turn of events. Females are believed to be more enthusiastic than men, be that as it may, guys are as passionate. To be progressively exact, each sex will in general procedure mental states in an alternate way. Finally, this report will cover how rules fused in a boys’ and girls’ games influence their ethical thinking sometime down the road, making young men lean towards law and equity while young ladies inclining towards compassion and relations. For additional examination, this topic means to raise doubt about the strategies for how people may parent, instruct, and bolster their kids utilizing favorable circumstances their girl or son’s cerebrum may give so as to prevail in their current condition. Presentation In the midst of the progression of today’s mechanical advancements, analysts around the globe had the option to uncover almost 100 significant contrasts among male and female cerebrums (Jantz, 2014, p. 2). Recognizing these distinctions may â€Å"help you to see how to best utilize the focal points your cerebrum gives, what to know about around the detriments, and how to make changes that will upgrade your capacity to prevail in your present environment† (O’Brien, 2007, p. 4). Sex contrasts can be enormously noticeable and seen from different focuses, in any case, the revelations experienced surpass past what the eye can see. Having said that, guys and females will in general vary extraordinarily in their mind, intellectual, social-passionate, and moral turn of events. Sex Differences in Brain Development The mind of guys and females contrasts in its structure, work and the strategy for preparing data. These distinctions start preceding birth, for male and female minds disperse assignments to every side of the equator in a unique plan (Jantz, 2014, p. 2). Thinking about this data, look into has uncovered that young men lean towards having a thicker right side of the equator as ahead of schedule as they are babies (Eliot, 1999, p. 434). The most clear uniqueness found in the mind across sexual orientations is the general size. For the most part, the human cerebrum will in general be 8% bigger in guys than females (Eliot, 1999, pp. 431-432), in any case, females have a discernibly bigger hippocampus and splenium of the corpus callosum (Jantz, 2014, p. 2) (Eliot, 1999, p. 432). White and dark issue, tissues of the mind and spinal line, are likewise utilized in various sums across sexes; male cerebrums apply multiple times progressively dim issue in their exercises, while female cerebrums utilize roughly multiple times increasingly white issue, which is because of more blood stream in female minds (Jantz, 2014, pp. 1-2). Albeit indistinguishable in cosmetics, the degree of neurochemicals oversaw in human cerebrums differs between genders too (Jantz, 2014, p. 1). It is likewise supposed to be that women’s minds are more even than men’s (Eliot, 1999, p. 432). Correspondingly, ladies will in general be at a favorable position with regards to phonetic abilities on the grounds that albeit verbal focuses are regularly found in the left half of the globe, ladies for the most part have them on the correct side of the equator too (Jantz, 2014, p. 2). This subjective capacity, close by others, is expressed to be because of the disparate procedure where the minds of people are wired. Sexual orientation Differences in Cognitive Development Attributable to the way that the succession of improvement of the different mind locales contrasts in guys and females, this perspective likewise influences different focuses identified with psychological turn of events. In the underlying days after birth, a girl’s left half of the globe is snappier to react to verbal sounds than a boy’s (Eliot, 1999, p. 434). Further down the road, ladies keep on securing on to this brisk reaction as they are faster at shifting back and forth between errands (Jantz, 2014, p. 1). Appraisals have indicated that females will in general achieve a more significant level in coordinating things and reviewing subtleties in the wake of understanding sections and stories better than guys do (Kimura, 1999, p. 2). Moreover, verbal IQ tests show that young ladies are relied upon to be further developed in phonetic capacities, while young men are progressively favorable with regards to visual and spatial errands, for example, mental turn, route, ari thmetic, and science (Eliot, 1999, p. 430). Given these spatial and fortified engine abilities, men all through development were picked to chase creatures effectively as ladies invested the vast majority of their energy nursing and thinking about their kids, in this manner improving their semantic aptitudes (Eliot, 1999, p. 431). Females may likewise exceed expectations in this field since they have increasingly employable correspondence between the two sides of the equator, this empowers them to include the two sides of their mind to a similar degree for some kinds of exercises (Eliot, 1999, p. 432). Visual-spatial coordination is expanded in young men through their commitment in exercises, for example, pushing trucks around and kicking soccer balls. While playing with dolls expands a girl’s verbal aptitudes through social association sorts of falsification play (Eliot, 1999, p. 433). Be that as it may, the reasons for these distinctions in psychological improvement don't en d here. Visual-spatial capacities are likewise connected with levels of testosterone found in each sex. Poor capacity is brought about by high or low degrees of testosterone. Consequently, ladies with high testosterone levels and men with low testosterone levels do best on tests connected with visual-spatial capacities. This stage happens in ladies before their ovulation, while it emerges in men throughout the spring (Wade, n.d., p. 4). These testosterone levels and the capacities secured may exhibit a distinction in psychological turn of events, yet in addition furnish reason to how one arrangements with society and feelings encompassing their condition. Sexual orientation Differences in Social-Emotional Development A clear sexual orientation distinction perceived by numerous social orders the world over is the social-enthusiastic formative angle in the two people. Many accept that females will in general be more enthusiastic than guys, in any case, contemplates have found that passionate precariousness happens in ladies, yet in addition in men at proportionate levels (Wade, n.d., p. 4). Given that young ladies are all the more verbally emotive and utilize the privilege and left halves of the globe of their cerebrums when responding to passionate occasions, they are equipped for portraying their sentiments at a further developed level than young men, giving them an impression of being increasingly delicate (McBride, n.d., p. 3) (O’Brien, 2007, p. 3). Then again, all through the way toward breaking down emotive memory, men may accidentally proceed onward to different errands that are unlinked to sentiments, causing it to appear as if they are staying away from their feelings (Jantz, 2014, p. 2). Relating back to a prior theme, male and female bodies contain similar hormones, however in various sums. That being stated, men have more measures of androgens while ladies have more measures of estrogen hormones (Wade, n.d., p. 2). Generally, women’s mind-sets and selection of accomplices identifies with hormones that deal with their menstrual cycles (Wade, n.d., p. 4). Ladies with high estrogen levels tend to be engaged with serene connections and maintaining associations. Serotonin, a neurochemical that is answerable for one’s feeling of serenity, wants and hostility levels, is found to be 30% more present in ladies than in men, which may likewise add to the quiet relations a few ladies may look after (O’Brien, 2007, p. 4). Be that as it may, hostility and sex drive are because of testosterone, an androgen hormone, which is discovered higher in level in men (Wade, n.d., p. 3). Testosterone in a high school boy’s body additionally causes him the craving to be disregarded and decrease any kind of social movement, except for sex and sports (O’Brien, 2007, p. 1). Because of how guys process testosterone, they will in general be increasingly hasty, serious, forceful, and need unexpected techniques in comparison to young ladies to alleviation stress (Jantz, 2014, p. 2). In any case, insights have likewise introduced that ladies will in general be multiple times more on edge than men (O’Brien, 2007, p. 3). In this manner, when confronted with uneasiness, stress or dread, ladies will in general stay together by keeping up their social association as a method of supporting a feeling of security (O’Brien, 2007, p. 1). As demonstrated, a considerable lot of these social-passionate focuses are noted to be usually extraordinary across ladies and men because of persuading formative causes. Sexual orientation Differences in Moral Development One improvement distinction that may not be as observable as the previous issue is females and males’ moral thinking. Kohlberg’s moral advancement hypothesis expresses that ethical thinking is worried about equity and comprises of six formative stages that are put into three levels: pre-customary profound quality, traditional ethical quality, and post-ordinary ethical quality (HHG notes, 2014). Kiss Of The Spider Woman Essays - High School Musical, Fences

Kiss Of The Spider Woman In the play Fences, which was written by August Wilson, Bono, Gabe, and Alberta are all very important people in Troy's life. Bono is Troy's best friend, and through him the reader learns that Troy is a very strong character. Through Gabe, people can see some of the guilt Troy has inside. Alberta helped Troy escape from his problems, and have a few laughs every once in awhile. Each one of these characters tells the reader something different about Troy. Throughout the years, Bono has always been there for Troy. They have been friends for about eighteen years. Bono never hesitated to tell Troy anything, especially his opinion on Alberta. ?I know what Rose means to you, Troy I'm just trying to say I don't want to see you mess up.? (p.63) Bono's words show the reader how much he cares about Troy. Bono was always straightforward with Troy. He even said, ?That's right. I know you. I know you got some Uncle Ramus in your blood. You got more stories than the devil got sinners.? (p.13) Much of Troy is shown in Bono because he has been with him through the good times and the bad. Another character who has helped reveal complexities about Troy is Gabe, Troy's brother. Gabe has a metal plate in his head; caused by his time in War World II. The government in return gave Gabe monthly checks. The only way Troy was able to pay for his house was through the governments' money. ?That's the only way I got a roof over my head?Cause of that metal plate.? (p.28) When Gabe moved in with Miss Pearl, Troy started to feel guilty. He was feeling culpability because not only was Gabe's money paying for Troy's house, but now he was paying money to Miss Pearl that could have been Troy's. When Gabe said, ?Got me two rooms. In the basement. Got my own door key too.? (p.25) Troy felt very guilty. He could have used that money for his own family. Also, almost weekly Troy had to pay $50 to get Gabe out of jail. Neighbors complained that he was disturbing the peace. Gabe added to Troy's character tremendously. Alberta is another character that helps reveal some of the complexities of Troy. Alberta is the woman with whom Troy had an affair. She helped Troy escape from his everyday life problems. When asked about Alberta, Troy had replied, ?She gives me a different understanding about myself. I can step out of this house and get away from the pressures and problems?be a different man.? (p.69) When he is with Alberta he feels that he does not have anything to worry about. This is shown when Troy says, ?I ain't got to wonder how I'm gonna pay the bills or get the roof fixed. I can just be a part of myself I ain't never been.? (p.69) Alberta also helped Troy realize the value of responsibility. When Alberta passed away, Troy was the only one who originally had to take care of Raynell, until Rose said she would. Alberta was very important in this play. Throughout this play, many of Troy's complexities are shown through other characters. Through Gabe, Bono, and Alberta, Troy shows all of his complexities as a man.

The Therapy of Human Touch essays

The Therapy of Human Touch essays There is a contest going on between conventional and alternative methods of treating sicknesses. Conventional or traditional medicine relies on pills and other forms of mechanical intrusion into the ailing body. Alternative or holistic medicine aims at restoring the ailing bodys balance by filling up its depleted energy field. Opponents have come up with views of the Healing Touch method as mere superstition, which cannot be outwardly proved. But it continues to gather advocates among the public. The Healing or Therapeutic Touch is a method, which is believed to help restore the natural healing processes of the body by redirecting and re-balancing the bodys natural energy fields (Bruno 1999). Its purpose is to reduce pin an anxiety, promote relaxation and stimulate the bodys natural healing processes. It is considered the modern version of the ancient laying off of the hands, found in the Bible, Eastern philosophy, ancient Greek mythology, and Native American myth. It was developed and given the name by Dolores Krieger, a nursing professor at the New York University in 1972 (Bruno). The method does not necessarily require massage or body work (Bruno 1999). The practitioners hands are usually an inch away from the patients body and move or hover around it, feeling or reworking on it. The method draws from the Eastern concept that, like all things, body has a life-energy field, which extends from it. If a person is healthy, his energy flows freely and is in a balanced state. But if he is physically or psychologically ill, the energy is blocked and his energy becomes imbalanced and depleted. Practitioners say that they can tune in on the patients energy field and feel its state with their hands. They can then manipulate this invisible energy field and make it smooth by transmitting new energy into it from their own through their hands (Bruno). A typical session star...

Theorists have argued that in order for service operations to be Essay - 1

Theorists have argued that in order for service operations to be successful, they must adopt a production line approach to their delivery - Essay Example According to Gallouj and Weinstein (1997), discretion of products is the core enemy to its order, standardization, and quality. A production line approach aims at emulating an assembly line in production in that no products are discretely prepared by the employee to reduce the risk of poor quality or differentiation as the employee will engineer the product according to his personal interests thus the outcome is highly unpredictable same as the customer response to the same product. On the other hand using a completely automated and controlled production line approach will ensure consistency in all the products thus the consumers will always know what to expect in terms of quality and consistency. The advantages of a production-line approach to service operations include increased, efficient, cheap, high volume lucrative service operations and an increased satisfied customer database. According to Levitt (1976), if a service operation takes place with a management rationality and tactics copied from the manufacturing division it is bound to prosper because the manufacturing sector tends to think and act technologically while the rational service operations approach tends to look for solutions in the empowerment of the person giving the service. The conveyor belt/production line approach in service operation is considered as an old but effective method in increasing a films production as exhibited by its use in fields such as banking, airlines, and maintenance. This approach has been implemented in companies and firms such as IBM which produces computers for worldwide consumption, Citibank which is one of the biggest banks worldwide and McDonalds. These strategy approach is an efficient, capital-intensive system, automatic and discrete system that involves preplanning and routinizing employee activities to ensure consistency and simplicity of the process. Theorists argue that this approach

Discuss how the anatomical and molecular structure of the podocyte Essay

Discuss how the anatomical and molecular structure of the podocyte facilitates filtration in the kidney - Essay Example The epithelial cells in the podocytes are polarized in nature with a luminal and basal cell membrane. The cell membrane corresponds to the sole plates of the foot processes. The slit diaphragm is found between the luminal and basal cell membranes (Kriz et al, 1998). A thick surface coat of sialoglycoproteins covers the luminal membrane and the slit diaphragm. The podocytes have a high negative surface charge due to the sialoglycoproteins made up of podocalyxin and podoendin among others. This surface charge helps to maintain the interdigitating pattern of the foot processes. When the surface charge is neutralized by cationic substances like protamine sulphate, the processes draw back and cause tight junctions between them (Kriz et al, 1998). The abluminal membrane contains many proteins participating in the various functions of the glomerulus. Podoplanin is a recently described protein found all over the podocyte. Galatosamine residues of glycoconjugates and A13 (podocyte-specific pr otein) are found. The cell body has the large nucleus, well developed Golgi system, endoplasmic reticulum and lysosmes (Kriz et al, 1998).Podocytes play a significant role in the physiology and pathology of the glomerulus and form the basis of the filtration process in the kidney along with the slit diaphragm. The glomerulus has a glomerular filtration barrier which is deeply involved in the kidney functions (Pavenstadt, 2000). The podocyte is the most differentiated cell or highly specialized cell in the glomerulus for the functions. The podocytes stabilize the glomerular architecture by preventing distensions of the glomerular basement membrane and maintain the large filtration surface at the slit diaphragm. They account for 40% of the hydraulic resistance of the filtration barrier (Pavenstadt, 2000). The foot processes are contractile in nature with actin, myosin, alpha-actinin, vinculin and talin and connected to the basement

Survey - Payroll Essay Example for Free

Survey Payroll Essay A1. The most important I learned in this payroll accounting course is that there can be different methods of calculating income taxes and other taxes, but the underlying idea is to lawfully tax the earner, according to their wage-level and family structure. The different taxing figures for weekly, biweekly, monthly, semi-annually and annually salaries gives a clear picture of the differences that have been implemented by the federal board in taxing these different types of workers. Setting a standard across the board for taxing would have led to injustices to at least a group of workers. Instead, the federal board has carefully revised the different types of workers and set up taxing brackets and percentages according to their need and ability. Also, I learned the fact that the way in which taxes are calculated is very personalized (according to your earning, marital status, allowances). It is the employers’ duty to match the FICA taxes paid by the employee and contribute an equal amount to the state. There is another thing I would like to add. Payroll Accounting is a very delicate job and one has to be very clever to handle it. Although formulae and calculations are what have ton be just implemented, the person handling these figures and data should have avid knowledge and in-depth detail of their subject before attempting to do the calculations and manipulations. A2. The forms were very easy to use, given the fact that they addressed exactly what was required, nothing more or less. They were self-explanatory and there was no ambiguity at any column or cell. The website was very user-friendly. It had the clear explanation and information that enabled the user to navigate to exactly what they wanted. There were clear details on what was available and what it was used for so that the user did not have to waste time searching for what they wanted.

Theatrical Sound Designer :: Essays Papers

Theatrical Sound Designer The sound designer is responsible for handling the audio requirements of a theatrical performance. This includes the creation of sound effect cues, sound reinforcement, mixing, and possibly Foley. â€Å"Sound designers develop the aural, or sound, cues crucial to play’s mood. Running water, traffic, the murmuring of a crowd or the strains of music are the kinds of sound effects used as an integral part of a production.† (Mauro p.96) Along with the creation of sound, the sound designer must work in concert with all members of the design team from the lighting designer to the set designer, in order to create a total package. One of the first jobs a sound designer has is to read the script and create an effects cue sheet. A cue sheet is a list of the sound effects needed during a performance as determined by stage direction or intuition, such as a telephone ring, thunder, or the sound of a passing train. These sound effects may be created live during the performance using Foley, but more often than not the sound designer will utilize a keyboard and sampler, a CD player, or even a cassette tape deck. Depending on the theater the sound designer may have to employ some sound reinforcement techniques, such as micing the actors with wireless microphones or placing microphone such as PZMs on or around the stage. All of these signals are then routed through a mixing broad, which the sound designer operates during the performance. Although no formal training is required, experience in audio engineering, music theory, and basic stagecraft would be very beneficial. â€Å"Working in radio or for a studio that dubs sound cues in music could provide excellent experience.† (Mauro p.102) Most literature recommends an apprenticeship for breaking into the business, tacking a position as a sound person for example. A sound person implements the requirements but forth by sound designers and might also be expected to place the microphones and speakers. A sound person can expect to make anywhere from $250 to $1250 a week. (Field p.271-273) Depending on the market and venue a sound designer can expect to make $300-$1000 a week, to $100,000 a show for a Broadway production.

What factors would have led Dawn to come to a different decision? Here are the factors that could have altered Dawn’s decision: (i) The Sales Representative is late; (2) The boss is not satisfied with the current equipment; (3) The company is under cost-pressure; (4) The boss and Dawn is not in a good relationship; (5) The Sales representative is not well dressed; (6) The Sales representative did not prepare a flashy video; and (6) The Sales Representative could not justify the cost versus benefits. Activity Thought 1. Before Meeting the Sales Representative i. Objective of Meeting: to discuss whether it is best to buy additional equipment accessories. ii. What will the boss might say about if I decide to buy when the equipment is not achieving its purpose. iii. How can I face the boss, this might be another wrong decision to add-up with our current status. 2. Meeting the Sales Representative – Video Presentation. i. He’s late. I have many things to do. ii. The video is lame. I have much better things to do. iii. I don’t think we need it at all.    3. After the Video    In this case, even before the meeting, Dawn has already stopped thinking whether to buy or not to buy because in the middle of the meeting he has already decided. What do you believe are the implications of `framing` on our judgments and on our attempts to influence others? Are there moral considerations? Why or why not? Manufacturing, business, even life and death decisions depends on how information is framed. However there is supposedly no problem with framing because it provides us confidence to convince people to buy, to believe, to be happy or to be sad, as long as our ulterior motive is good. Framing itself is not the problem—every piece of information communicated requires a frame to convey message clearly. The problem is a larger social issue which is usually done by the government, corporation, and individuals who want to deceive people in believing something else. Example, in the medical industry, hospitals or doctors might release statements that are framed in such a way to fool people. A few years ago, British women were informed that the use of the contraceptive pill leads to a 2-fold increase in the risk of thrombo-embolism. Many stopped taking the pill, which resulted in unwanted pregnancies and abortions. If the official statement had instead been that the pill increases the risk from 1 to 2 in 14,000 women, few women would have been scared. The problem here is that it framed in a general statement not showing any evidence or numerical study results.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   A lot of moral issues in these wrong framing incidents are happening everyday in our television. Media in their attempt to get higher rating tends to bubble a story and framed the headlines in such a way that people will be intrigue to watch. It often results to a different decision and perception of things aside from that which is supposed to be true. REFERENCE LIST    Frege, G. The Thought: A Logical Inquiry. Often they are original and creative. Buy-One-Get-One-Free (BOGOF)   which is an example of a self-liquidating promotion. For example if a loaf of bread is priced at $1, and cost 10 cents to manufacture, if you sell two for $1, you are still in profit especially if there is a corresponding increase in sales. This is known as a PREMIUM sales promotion tactic. Customer Relationship Management (CRM)  incentives such as bonus points or money off coupons. There are many examples of CRM, from banks to supermarkets. New media   Websites and mobile phones that support a sales promotion. For example, in the United Kingdom, Nestle printed individual codes on KIT-KAT packaging, whereby a consumer would enter the code into a dynamic website to see if they had won a prize. Consumers could also text codes via their mobile phones to the same effect. Merchandising  additions such as dump bins, point-of-sale materials and product demonstrations. Don’t waste time!
